Giant Clam Derasa Spawning in-situ Date 03.01.2025
The Semporna Islands Project (SIP) hatchery team recently achieved a significant milestone with the successful in situ spawning of derasa giant clams. This groundbreaking achievement marks a crucial step in our efforts to conserve and restore these magnificent creatures within their natural habitat.
In situ spawning allows us to directly contribute to the replenishment of wild giant clam populations while minimizing the impact on the delicate reef ecosystem. This innovative approach demonstrates the dedication and expertise of our team in advancing marine conservation practices.
We are incredibly proud of this accomplishment and remain committed to working tirelessly towards a healthier and more vibrant marine environment for generations to come.
